Adoptable Dogs
Call the shelter at 574-936-8300 for any questions about the animals below!

Pets shown here may have been adopted.  But, there are always others at the shelter just waiting for a family of their own!
If you are interested in a specific pet, you should call ahead to see if that pet is still available.
Current Adoption Fees:
Dogs: $80

**You will be responsible for getting your dog fixed through our foster to adopt program. This is typically the case when dogs are too young to be fixed before leaving the shelter.

For applications we do check with your vet that your current pets are up to date on rabies and spayed/neutered in order to approve you. We often check your past history of pets to be sure you are a responsible pet owner. This is our policy and it will not be changing. If you rent and do not provide your landlord's name and contact information, your application will be bypassed and not approved. Typically you don't own your place if the address is an apartment complex. We have also started checking addresses due to being provided with false information. We like to respect landlords wishes in hopes those who do allow pets, continue to allow them with their honest tenants and trust us when adopting to them.

We are doing everything we can to keep this page as updated as possible. We've recently taken in large amounts of animals at a time a time and like to get to know each of them before posting descriptions. We are also active with our Facebook page to try and find the owner of animals brought to us prior to posting for adoption. Animals on this page may already be adopted, or in the process of being adopted, we like to give each adoption a few days before posting to make sure it's the right fit. Even if an adoption is pending, we still welcome you to apply in case it falls through or isn't the right fit. Thank you for understanding! You're always welcome to call (leave a voicemail if no answer) or email us with any questions!!
Yes, our public hours are limited, but with an approved application, we make after hours appointments for one on one meet and greets! *Having an approved application does not obligate you to take an animal*

Faline
Faline is now our longest resident, she’s been with us for well over 100 days. She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet, and be treated like the princess she is! She struggles with missing her human way too much when she’s alone. So a home where her human is home a lot is ideal. We believe crate training will help, so Faline is also asking for a human with patience to help her learn that it’s okay to be alone sometimes.
If you're searching for a dog who will greet you with enthusiasm every day and fill your life with love, Faline is your girl.
Faline is around 3 years of age, mixed breed, about 50 pounds, spayed, and up to date on vaccines!

Her vetting was generously sponsored in loving memory of Aneisha Himes!
In hopes of helping find her forever home, her adoption fee has generously been sponsored, from the Montgomery family in memory of Hoosier!

Sally
Sally is a lab mix that was previously adopted and returned. She has been the perfect lady at the shelter, totally housebroken. Sally did have a scuffle with the neighborhood dog, in all fairness it did come on to her property and she has proven to be a protector. We prefer she be an only dog and well supervised if around other dogs in her own yard. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion then Sally is your girl!

Gibby
He is as smart as he is cute. Gibby came to us as a stray and never claimed. He takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers, and he will do best being the only pet because he doesn't share well with others. Gibby makes us smile daily with his cute smile. He will need someone who's willing to work with him on his manners, but has all the potential to become a perfect gentleman. We believe he is a jack russell mix around 3 years old.
Thanks to Aaron's Perfect Cut Tree Service, he has been completely vetted!

Henna
Henna is a fun spunky girl! She’s a border collie mix, about one year old. Henna is fully grown and will make a great family dog. She doesn’t know many basic commands, but is so smart and picks up on them quickly! We’ve been working on sit and taking treats gently and after 10 minutes she’s nearly a pro. Please apply if you’re interested in Henna!
Thanks to her sponsor, Salon Rouge, she is completely vetted and ready for her forever home!

Benni
Benni is a 4 year old (birthday: 3/4/22), mini bernadoodle, weighs right at 50 pounds. He’s had a whole transformation since he first came in. He sat perfectly while getting cleaned up. He’s a bit bald right now, but a full shave was required with how severe some of his matted hair was. Benni needs a home that’s able to provide grooming for him! We don’t want him to ever have to feel like that again.
He’s very timid, and scared of most things, so he’s looking for a home that will provide him with patience while he learns to trust again.
Thank you to Aaron’s Perfect Cut Tree Service for sponsoring his complete vetting and getting him ready to find his forever home!

Dexter
Dexter might look familiar because he once adopted out about two years ago. We recently found out that they actually gave him away to someone that basically dumped him. So he has found himself trying to find forever AGAIN! He's a perfect gentleman and keeps a clean kennel if any dog deserves a loving FOREVER family, it's Dexter!
He is a Shepherd-Husky mix with a heart full of love for people and a playful spirit that just won't quit. We estimate him to be about 5 years old. Dexter is always up for games, cuddles, and making new friends.

If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your life with, Dexter might just be your perfect match. Come meet him and see if you can resist his charming personality!
His vetting was generously sponsored by the Newman Family!!

Dixie
Dixie is a 5 year old wire haired terrier mix! She weighs in at 37 pounds, so a bit on the smaller size. She is full grown and listens very well! From what we understand is that she's had many homes already in just 5 years. From what we can tell it's no fault of her own, she just needs a home that looking to make that forever home commitment to her! Dixie is spayed and up to date on all vaccines.

Thank you to Auto Park for sponsoring her complete vetting and getting her ready to find her forever home!
